Natural yellow to orange colour extracted from the seeds of Bixa orellana. Oil soluble bixin grades colour butter, cheese, ghee style fats and snacks; water soluble norbixin grades suit dairy, bakery and beverages. FSSAI permits annatto extracts in the categories listed in Appendix A, and annatto in oil is labelled as such.
